On April 6-7, 2017, the UCI Initiative to End Family Violence hosted their annual Politicization of Safety Conference, which critically explored political dimensions of interventions in (or failures to intervene in) family violence. Topics included challenges related to: reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act, criminalization, failure to protect laws, police-perpetrated family violence, gun control, and campus responses to sexual assault and domestic violence.
